Hi! I'm Julie and I'm first and foremost dog mom to the world's most adorable pug, Moira Rose, aka Balanced Nutrition's brand ambassador. Similar to me, Moira loves meeting new clients so feel free to say hello if you ever see her in the office! When I'm not at work, I enjoy watching true crime documentaries, tending to my many plants, and trying the best new restaurants and food in Philadelphia.
Areas of Specialty
My expertise lies in working with individuals of all ages recovering from eating disorders and disordered eating. My experience working in residential treatment centers as well as my interest in complex medical and mental health conditions, has equipped me to work with individuals experiencing various co occurring diagnoses such as anxiety, depression, PTSD and medical concerns or complications. In addition to my specialty and passion for eating disorders, I have a strong interest and background in gastrointestinal conditions and their impact on nutrition and overall health.
Nutrition Philosophy
I strive to bring understanding, compassion, and constant support to my clients with a clinical commitment to Health at Every Size® (HAES) principles and weight-inclusive care. My goal is to help my clients to foster a positive relationship with food as a key component in their overall mental and physical health. I always aim to provide individually-tailored nutrition counseling with an emphasis on holistic wellness, and body positivity. I am an LGBTQIA+ ally and passionate about inclusive and accessible care and treatment for all individuals in all circumstances.
